Hopesfall seem like everything I look for in a band yet I have managed to avoid them all these years somehow. Listened to a few songs of this album and I am in love.
Can someone tell me which of their albums would he the best to start with and/or even the best order to listen to the albums in?

1. Arbiter
2. Satellite Years

Complaining something is a “by the numbers sput core classic” is a really weird complaint considering I’m about 100% sure the band doesn’t even know or care sputnik’s consensus on anything
|
| |
that argument isn't implied at all. i'm saying the album is akin to fan service, does nothing to challenge the taste of the fans in the sput community. even some people who love the band have voiced that they feel there's been no development in their sound
when we accuse an album of being "sputcore" we aren't saying the band is aware of the site and gearing the work towards them. just that it captures the stereotypical taste of the community here

is it even stereotypical since the community changed since 2009-2012

This would be more stereotypical if they just tried to make the Satellite Years 2. Choosing to go forward from their Magnetic North sound, knowing that album had somewhat mixed reception, was a risk in and of itself

Plus its a comeback album from a group of guys who mostly havent made music in over a decade. If youre expecting them to reinvent the wheel then thats on you

The production on this is perfect. Even the vocals sound a lot better this time around, and they have always sounded dodgy at parts.

Jay’s vocal style on the later albums was always a big draw for me tbh

Fuck this is all I've been listening to since its release date but still don't know how to rate it.

In Bloom might be the best Hopesfall song.

Doug had the better harsh vocals imo but Jay has the better range with his cleans.
And yeah that riff 1:30 into Bloom just hits me so hard on so many levels

"I prefer Doug"
Same. He was also a better lyricist imo

They both have their strengths tbh

Jay's better in every way agreed
