Been playing this non-stop lately. Really solid 'Vektor-Core' XD

"Too little variation in pace/rhythm, too much of the continuous mid-boosted wall of sound, and not enough thrash... "

This. I stepped away for a bit and could still hear the music while I was away. When I came back I thought the album was on the same song, but it was like 4 tracks deep from where I started.

This happens to me sometimes when I'm not truly paying attention to the album. Hell, when I first listened to Bolt Thrower's 'IVth Crusade' I hardly paid attention and didnt enjoy it. Kinda thought it was all the same till I went back to it a couple more times.

It's not revolutionary but still a pretty solid, concentrated blast of blackened thrash.

"Famine Angel" is my choice.

It gets a little homogenous at times but this is still refreshingly enjoyable & catchy af. Is all their earlier stuff like this, or is it a bit more varied in style/tempo etc?

First album is more prog thrash, very sharp, second is like this one but less blackened, and the production is cleaner. Glad you liked it Demon m/

Damn, gotta agree about this being really homogeneous. Hard to tell tracks apart. And y'all weren't kidding about the mids lol. I tried upping the volume to get more highs and lows and that didn't do shit.

It'll probably be great in a mass shuffle but overall I am a bit disappointed

Their earlier albums are better, but this is still pretty damn good

I like this one better than the early stuff. The first album just sounds too straightforward old school thrash metal for me. About the mids, yeah, smth went on with mastering this, or it's on purpose, who knows. It doesn't bother me after some seconds in though.

This is only growing on me...

Although I enjoy this album and think it's very consistent, I have to agree with some comments about how it gets a bit samey at times. Also couldn't agree more with WretchedCacophony's comment.

I'm between a 3.5 and a 4 for this one. Anyway, nice to see these guys got some recognition with this review. Thanks Dewi! m/
