Told you brotha. Husk takes all the weight of the album, lifts it and throws it all over you at once.

Sweet, I remember seeing your soundoff on their debut so I have the feeling you'll prefer the more progressive thrash of that one, but who knows ;)

The review is an apt rendition & appreciation of what this album does. Pos.
Can't say I'm the biggest fan of the direction they're taking with this, but judging after 3-4 listens it's a solid release. I kinda hoped they'd balance it out more with the thrashy hooks & riffs of before. Like you say they're great at building atmosphere here. Downside is most of the songs seem to be building up some kind of tension, but without releasing it at some suitable point.
This might grow on me tho, needs more listens. Husk slays btw

"Blackened thrash metal band with progressive leannings "
the genre mixture and a mispronounced word really have me worried... still, black POSt

Thanks Uni, you heard this yet?

I might, after all, furious vocals on a symphonic lair sound rather intriguing.

I think your refined taste will be able to appreciate the finesse of these young men.

Just read that one of the guitarists and the bass player are jazz graduates actually. That explains some of the sick stuff they do here.

Just got to listen to the album, I love the harsh vocals, the Voivod-esque tone of the guitars and some eerie melodies here and there ("Cloak of Lies"), but songs tend to blend into one another, due to the rhythm section, which adopts pretty much the same pattern (mid-to-fast snare pounding combined with fast double-bass drumming) throughout the album.
Good album (and a real banger for live shows), between 3-3.5 for me atm.
