There's no way that this album is worse than Self-Inflicted, like are you guys even hearing the same album that I am?

If they had a different name, the score would be much higher, same with IA

I wish it had a different name

Bumping this up to a 3.5, this is quickly becoming my favorite album by these guys.

I haven't even heard this and I know that's some bullshit my man
|
| |
Pretty appropriate album name given that listening to the vocalist is a nightmare in itself.

Are you talking about Tom Barber or Alex Koehler? If you're speaking of Alex he's no longer in the band

Alex isn't coming back, and Tom's vocals are just as good. Calm down y'all
|
| |
Wasn't aware the last singer left but if the new vocalists vocals are "just as good" then they're pure dogshit and I won't be able to stand a second of them. I had the misfortune of seeing these guys live and to say it was probably the worst live band I've ever seen was an understatement. People were legit covering their ears because it sounded that bad.

Where did I say anything regarding Alex coming back lol

Fear if you hated Alex, you might actually enjoy Tom's better; different vocal styles, same level of ability (aka huge range)
@Steak: I was more addressing the overall consensus of this album.

listen to Flesh Coffin Tom Barber and then this... why did he change his vox style?

I've seen them live a couple of times and they were good each time

"serviceable instrumentation"
That's an understatement if I've ever heard one.
|

Okay so I’m about halfway through and, while it’s not good, I still think this is better than Desolation of Eden or My Damnation. Sitting at a 2.5 so far. I fucking hated Alex’s vox tho. So that may be the main reason this is sitting better with me. I honestly agree with the instrumentation being serviceable for this. I find most of it at least slightly more engaging than the two albums I mentioned previously for sure

Alex on Evolve is peak Alex

Evolve and this are this band's two best releases.

Alex's best is on My Damnation but his introduction of cleans is definitely much more mature
