I recall a time on my life when I would listen to this band on a daily basis, I was living in northern VA, DC area, on my junior year of high school, they would play something off of this record every afternoon on the DC 101 rock station, I have most of these songs ingrained on my mind, and while there was I time when I certainly enjoyed the hooks and performances, they just don't do it for me sorry, I pretty much can't stand the majority of these glam metal bands, especially when it comes to Guns & Roses, everything seems so phoned in

About as overrated as it was on initial release.

Well, the original release of this has a 4.1 anyway. My best guess as to why this is getting flack now is that the album is so popular that it's "cool" to hate on it. Or something along those lines anyway.

I'll admit that GNR are a little lame and that their debut isnt as good as I remember, but nah it's still not a 1/5

agreed. this doesn't feel contrived at all, especially when compared to all the other stuff coming out at that time.

The reason why is that even by the standards of its time, it's ludicrously mediocre.

why don't they just quit being around, they're starting being the parody of themselves

Meanwhile, you have every Taking Back Sunday and My Chemical Romance album rated at a 4.0 or higher. I guess that pretty much says it all.

As a kid, I always thought the art piece inside the booklet was sweet

I still have the original vynil with the robot monster jumping off the wall after having raped that ice cream girl.

(That's the best description I can give of that cover)

My cousin had the original flag of that from the tour back in the late 80’s. Even though I was a young dude, I was still extremely jealous.
