Lost in Vegas has a really good breakdown of Side A on their YouTube channel.

Those are cool guys
|
| |
yea I like them
|
| |
man, he needs to quit playing and make an r&b album with songs like Jaded and Peak already. get some PND and Weeknd features on it and boom

That shit would get boring so quickly bruh. He juuust barely pulled it off on the B side. I'm ready for him to drop a hard ass mixtape on some If You're Reading This part 2 type shit.
|
| |
yea that would be dope too. If You're Reading is prolly his best shit after Take Care tbh. still disappointed he hasnt built on it since then

isn't that pretty much what Scorp disk 2 is already tho?
I feel like the balance of rap and r&b shit is what makes his good albums work so well in the first place, I used to want a full r&b record as well - which apparently was the original plan for Take Care - but these days i'm not pining for that so much
|
| |
it is but very loosely. there are only a couple of true r&b tracks like Jaded or Peak, the rest just being "softer" than the first disc

I read somewhere today that the MJ sample on “Donmt Matter to Me” was from the early 80s - I have no idea where this dude this info but I was under the impression it was from the early 00s or something at least, does anyone know for sure l?

Goddamnit, del!
|
| |
it's from a session with Paul Anka in 83
|
| |
it's pretty funny cos for most of DEHH's "takedown" of that song they were complaining about the quality of MJ's vocals saying "you know this is from after he fell off" or whatever
But '83 that's about as prime MJ as it gets, lol
|
| |
This album has some hot fuckin' sections tho
"In My Feelings" through "After Dark," for instance, one of his best song trios on an album ever tbh
