Like how the reviewers describe Egypt as a hardcore song hmmmm

This is where I begin to hear hints of the more "modern" SX sound, which I like even more than their 90's stuff. As the reviewer said, sometimes parts sound similar to something else but when the riffs are so killer and the sound production so fantastic, I don't mind.

Weird, I found the production pretty dull on this. The vocals are completely buried.

Revisiting, having a blast, rate bumped, life is good m/ [#]
Holy Hell! This album is such a 🐐 grower.
The classical music influence & small borrow homage here, is very well done. Particularly, "The Death Of Balance - Lacrymosa", Lacrymosa from the Mozart Requiem, god tier music from the classical era c/w a few little Bach fugue on guitar or keyboard.
Second full repeat jam, might 5-it after. Edit: 4.75/5 -->5.0 Biiiingooooo!!!

Also revisited this album lately, and I've come to the conclusion that this is their best album, I used to be more into the Odyssey era and beyond but something has clicked for me as well.
Communion and the Oracle alone is worth the album, an absolute masterclass in composition.
It's too bad they were limited by production at that time, there was a recent interview with Michael Romeo where he said they maxed out CPU limits with the orchestrations on The Odyssey.
If V was done in the Iconoclast era level of production, holy shit...I'd listen to that so hard.
