To clarify, it's not that I want to find out what John was trying to say, I just personally see it clear as day. It was my immediate reaction to those lyrics which just happens to never have changed, because I've had no reason to think otherwise. And I see it on a lot of other of his songs, lots of great lines...
Says Tarantino: "One of the things that's fun when you write about subtextual criticism ... you don't have to be right. It doesn't have to be what the director was thinking. It's what you're gathering from it. You're making a case."
Moments Have You is damn cool! Brilliant album closer.

lol JF tried to play it live... kept having random mistakes. String broke, had guitar in wrong tuning...
He should tour though.
|
| |
Lol, when was that?
And yeah. RHCP are coming to Mexico and I'm not going cause I won't be in the country then but when my friends freak out when they ask me about it I say I am attending JF's secret show that day. Wish it was true, I bet he's killer live.

moments have you is so fucking good
that whole album man
ramparts and with no one back to back like how
might 5 it
|

"gonna be hard to find Jf's records I think though"
You're in luck man, they're literally just been re-released in the last month or so through Record collection. I was hoping to get The Empyrean and Curtains but I couldn't afford it at the time...
His first two were never released on vinyl and I think Warner owns the rights to Record only Water and Shadows...

it is, in a drugged up, hauntingly beautiful and mystifying sort of way.

i kinda wanna check it, i love that stuff.
you think this is his best tommy?
|
| |
nah his best for me is a four way tie between shadows, empyrean, curtains, to record only water (depending on mood, they are all very different) but this is very very good
which ones have you heard mate?

Shadows, it had some great moments but honestly I couldn't make it through the whole thing. that was quite some time ago though
|

yeah i love drug-induced jams so this might be right up my alley hehe
|
| |
yeah he actually recorded most of this in the mansion when they were recording bssm so he was actually sober on most of it which kinda makes it even weirder
smile from the streets you hold, now that's where the real junkie jams are at

oh dammn really? if it was recorded around the time of BSSM (that album has some of my favourite guitar playing/soloing of all time) then I really have to check this
and i read in scar tissue (kiedes' autobiog) that during that time him and Flea would go through nearly an ounce of weed every day hah, that's just insane.
|
| |
haha yeah by sober I meant not on heroin, so 'relatively' sober haha
but yeah dude the guitar playing on this is something else he just lets rip and it's really unorthodox and beautiful
