Damn Noctus. Is it the voice?
i feel his voice has taken a step back in quality on this one but ultimately i find this album pretty directionless songwriting wise. it starts out with the best track and then devolves into being far too slow for its own good (except for original face). the way it tries to recapture the track 'marrow' twice and not quite getting there on 'beauty in falling leaves' and 'our raw heart' didn't really help matters, either.

Beauty in falling leaves is such a nice tune though. slow as hell, but that's what I like about it.

it's just marrow from the last record but not as good and i find that really distracting tbh
like, if it were trying to do ANYTHING differently to that track, fair enough, but it isn't
and then 2 tracks later it tries to do the same thing, i found it really tiresome

this may not fit to the general YOB fan but sure is awesome for the ones who are not. Either way is far from average music but you do what you need to do to make your point. With that I really meant this is not a "one-sided-doom-thing" which is the main reason I love it.

i'm not claiming it's average in terms of 'the norm', the rating represents my enjoyment of the record. not really trying to make a point either, nor am i all that much of a yob fan, last record was the only one i enjoyed. i'm just engaging in a music discussion board and sharing my response to a record rather than making a point.
