GoD was his version of a 'rock album' - by that I mean it was more in your face, more ego, noisier, all the tracks seemed linked in a sort of mockery of convention. Genius album, one of the five best of the last five years no question.

I enjoy R Plus Seven and this album definitely contains some nods to it...it doesn't grab my attention like GoD or feel as 'just so'. It is v good though, one that I might bump to a 4.5 one day.

GoD is everything I ever wanted from music, and is easily the best album of the decade.

A little, esp at the start...but then it gets progressively bastardised a la GoD as it progresses

yeah you're right. The first half is pretty light and subdued but it gets more dense and dissonant after Black Snow.

Not really digging those vocals. We'll take it and Babylon are great though.
