I really like Beach House. Looking forward to this one. Nice job, Fripp.

"Seventh swell"
Is that a freaking Eureka Seven reference?
This sounds interesting, I've never listened to beach house before. I like some dreap pop, might have to check this out.

Starting to think I don't like dream pop since this group represents the 'quintessential' sound and every album by them is lame.

I am loving this. "Dive" is amazing.
And good review frippy boy, digging the shorter format.

What u feel about this one budgie?

only heard a prerelease single or two in passing, going to wait until i snag the record from the store, just haven't found the time yet
it's 100% a blind buy though, the other 6 beach house albums are 4+'s for me

I still think "Teen Dream" and "Bloom" are their best; two back-to-back near masterpieces. The former being from the Mazzy Star school of song and the latter being a dreamgaze equivalent to "Souvlaki". That being said, I still love it.

interesting thought to connect teen dream with mazzy star, i had considered the debut s/t and devotion in particular to be really similar to the mazzy star sound, where teen dream shows beach house departing in another direction

It's okay, but calm down y'all. It's not their best work.

Big fan of Bloom and Teen Dream, but this one bests them for me due to the production by Sonic Boom.

Oh, Beach House. How I love thee.
"That road trip..." In my experience Beach House albums sound best in cars (or generally through speakers) with the volume turned waaay up. Their music is meant to envelope you and headphones just don't do the job.

A coast ride pumping this would be nice... ummm...
