met the bassist a couple months ago, the nonprofit I'm on the board of has gotten some really cool opportunities thanks to our connection with him

This is better than anything they've done since TSoM, and the only one that's even sort of close is Amaryllis (which grew on me a lot since my 2012 review). Brilliant is also one of their best closers, which is saying a lot. People should listen to this again because the upcoming album is shaping up to be hot garbage.

I mean I'm a huge Shinedown junkie so I'll probably still give the new album a 3/5 even if it's terrible

new album got delayed to July 1st
once again it seems to be a raw materials/plastics shortage

honestly, the new album is okay
just a typical Shinedown album just with more political lyrics lmao, though the interludes are dumb, other than that it's fine.

I really like it tbh. I'm not sure if it's quite as good as this album, mainly because there's no killer tunes like 'Brilliant', but Planet Zero is still very consistent as a whole.
