Chuck sucks, I’m just gonna say it. First album is pretty shit, IY is slightly better. Patton sent these guys into the stratosphere, and rightfully so, because he’s incredible on this.

Patton is good on this for sure but I definitely prefer his vocals on Angel Dust to the style on this one.

Yeah, I get the sense he spent a lot of the time in piss-take mode. Great though... even more enhanced by the range displayed later.

I prefer pretty much everything about Angel Dust to this one

For me, they're pretty equal. Might even prefer this one a little. At the very least, I think the highs here beat the highs on angel dust

^ Agree completely, more or less.
I’d say that this would’ve even been the clear winner, had it included “The Cowboy Song” - one of their very best efforts, that for some bizarre reason didn’t make the tracklist, despite being recorded in the same sessions.

cover still looks like flame on a flipped-over bottle cap (or a very... wet pan?) to me
i guess it's supposed to be fire hitting the ground like a raindrop or something but, I dunno, maybe that Epic Fish is still swaying me

The cover looks awful, but who judges by covers these days?
