At this point, I've pretty much put all this behind me. I listened to Deja a few days ago and enjoyed it like any other record. Devil and God is still a top ten record and this is as good as ever. It's my go-to record if I want something dark and sinister sounding. Don't think I'll be supporting them again but I don't think we should let someone take away something that means a lot to us.

I completely relate with you that, it was already waning on me before any of the accusations happened. I had a brief resurgence with the release of their new album, but in my opinion, it just didn't have much lasting power. I'll still revisit TDAGARIM from time to time, but like the odd one out that I am, I find myself revisiting the leaked demos more than anything. I don't know what it is, but I just always really loved those demos, spanning way back to when it was referred to as "Fight Off Your Demons". And I still occasionally jam some B-Sides like "Moshi, Moshi" and "Flying At Tree Level".

I should listen to those demos. I'm often not one for searching out rare b-sides or demos. I completely agree though, except for TDAG, which will always be a favourite, Brand New has never been a band that I have sentimental or personal attachments to so the allegations didn't hurt all too much.

As for this record at first I thought this would be able to topple TDAG but there's just something missing. I think it may be that fullness of sound TDAG had. This one kinda feels half-finished, if that makes any sense haha. I also don't see it ageing too well down the road.

They re-recorded some of those leaked demos, but the originals seem much more sincere. I would recommend "Missing You", "Fork And Knife", "Nobody Moves", and especiallyyyyyy "1996".

"I mean, yeah, sure Jesse has done some really shitty and disgusting things but on the scale of things he doesn't quite rank with building a whole goddamn amusement park just to lure little children to sleep with.

We all love angsty music until we learn what the angst is about. I have no qualms listening to Burzum, I have no qualms listening to Brand New. You're allowed to separate the art from the artist, or allow yourself the mental maturity to relate to someone who has done awful things without condoning the awful things themselves."

When trying to imagine a hypothetical world where every artist, innovator, personal of positive influence's terrible secrets are on display before they could make art, I think some 60% of everything we have would be gone.

Its obviously a complicated topic. I'd say as a society we've come far enough to instantly know certain thing are in inherently wrong. But i also don't know how to justify that with keeping these people around to create

More like 80%-90%, maybe higher even. Humans are humans, and imagine what we all, as individuals, do in secret...

Album is class.

Obviously.
Most people have done at least one thing in their lives that they are extremely embarrassed of and that if made public, would make them look really fucking bad. And if you think you haven't you probably don't remember it, cause you were drunk, drugged or just repressed it.

Or he or she is in denial of such, pretty common.
