Listening to this now. Not bad. Sounds like it was produced well.

@ashcrash9 - check his lists, he made one recently just about the track list he prefers.

What JWT said, but I re-posted here for convenience:

The Doomed

Disillusioned

Delicious

TalkTalk

DLB

The Contrarian

So Long, and Thanks for All the Fish

By and Down the River

Hourglass

Eat the Elephant

Feathers

Get the Lead Out

At the risk of sounding stupid, re-ordering the album like this raised it from a 3.5-3.8-ish to a 4.5. Just flows so much better IMO.

Normally I'm not into songs about crackers, but that "talk like Cheez-Its, walk like Cheez-Its" song is pretty damn good

I'll have to check this with the different track listing. The middle is pretty strong but the rest just doesn't do anything for me.

to be fair I re-ordered this immediately (after my first listen, I could tell the album had potential but that the tracklist was all-over)...I think the longer you listen to an album a certain way, the harder it becomes to change it. so hopefully this ordering still has the same impact on people who've listened to this through several times.

'There is a dry sense of humor that appears at times, particularly in "So Long and Thanks for all the Fish" and "Delicious."'

I'm glad someone found the humor enjoyable; it made me cringe. Anyway, your review was well-written as usual.

So if their first album is average I’m assuming this won’t convert me? I’ll go with 13th Step next instead, seems sensible.

First record was pretty straight forward rock, Thirteenth Step is my fav, is those two don't interest you this most won't change your opinion of the band.

Just came to say that whoever designed the album art deserves a steel wool colonoscopy

Man, I had low expectations going into this, but it was sooooooooooo boring.

There is maybe one song I like and the rest were super tame other than the two offensively bad landfill infernos, Gulliver's Garbage or w/e and Hourglass.

This is not a great effort from these guys. The cover says a lot. What an awful idea. How did this drummer get away with this horrific snare tone? Maynard is losing it with this lyrics, his delivery isn't bad, but the lyrics are getting corny and too straight forward. Not a great effort here.
