An improvement over No Closer to Heaven but still not as impressive as Suburbia or Greatest Generation

Anybody remember that guy Rasputin that used to be around here when Chan was around here? He basically would always be contrarian to everybody elses ratings.

Through good speakers it’s totally fine. Laptop speakers and shit ain’t gonna cut it though agreed.

As a general rule if you think the production on everything you listen to is horrible it's time to look inward and cough up some extra cash for a new system.

This is better than No Closer to Heaven but Greatest Generation still tops this

Something tells me that this will grow to be appreciated as much as The Greatest Generation over time. It's slightly less emotive, but makes up for it with a plethora of diverse and interesting sonic choices along with an overall maturity of the songwriting.

Finally gave this a real listen. Love it so far. Sounds more cohesive and consistent than NCTH, in passive listening nothing absolutely blew my mind and made me replay a part (the way Cigarettes and Saints and Stained Glass made me do on my first listens of NCTH).

I think this will continue to grow. Solid output as usual.

My only mild production complaints are from Kyoto and when WLLL's climax hits. Everything else sounds fantastic to me

Phenomenal review, Chan. Really excited to start digging into this. On first listen I am intrigued as hell....so much to unpack. Seems like they made have finally made the leap they've been struggling at for so many years.

Production on this really is quite noticably bad when it gets loud. Never noticed anything too bad on their last two but yeah it did stick out here. Not unlistenable tho.

A few tracks deep now and it iiiiis a little boring. Hope it picks up.

Not better, just different. I see TGG and this as equals in the grand scheme.

TGG was a high point for thee guys. No closer to heaven had some good production but was quite bloated.
