I was worried that I was getting prematurely old or something
How does one do this? There’s a lot of great music this year for you to get excited about Game, just got to dig a little : ]

" here's hoping I can add a new Vali or Tenhi record in the foreseeable future"
I'd sacrifice half this site for a new Musk Ox. Woodfall probs is my fav record of the '10s.

Prepare the sacrifice because they've recently finished up writing the music for their next release.

Interesting you feel Wolcensmen trumps this one David, while both are great records I think this takes the cake for me. It's stunning.
And yeah Nathanael is all finished up with the new Musk Ox compositions AND is working on his second solo record!

heh yeah man, I think it's because I prefer the darker atmosphere on Songs from the Fyrgen and really enjoy all the synths, flutes, percussion etc. I think overall it's just slightly more interesting and atmospheric than this. This is a great record though, and I do plan to give it several more listens so hopefully it grows on me.
I'm definitely looking forward to the new Musk Ox and Nathanael's solo project. Earth and Sky was not bad, but I was expecting a little more based on his work with Musk Ox, so I'm excited and interested to hear his new solo album.
But new Tenhi, new Vali, new Musk Ox coming up in the near future. What a time to be alive.

I still credit Woodfall as one of the albums that got me into this kinda folk in the first place
already been a better than average year for dark folk considering we're only in April, but a new Musk Ox and/or Tenhi would seal the deal

Where at Night the Wood Grouse Plays by Empyrium was my first experience with dark folk. Life changing album for me.

Speaking of German neofolk, you might want to give Forseti - Windzeit a try. One of my personal favorites

me too, good rec though! Don't know if he's still around but Sandwichbubble rec'd Windzeit to me in some list where he went through peoples ratings and chose an album he'd think they'd like.. Pretty spot on haha.
