"Blayne from bangertv seems like he is confused and doesn't like it but is afraid to say so, so 4.5/5.

He basically said there is lots of stuff I don't like here but when they do it I like it, and I wish when the good stuff happened it wasn't only for a brief moment, but oh well 4.5/5"

Saw that one too! I was also confused ahah

Blayne is supercool tho

It’s super disjointed but I actually really like it and I can’t even explain why haha

One thing I dig is the production. The whole thing comes off sweet

All the good moments on the new one feel fleeting just as it it starts to soar it shits itself and decides to chug

Gave their new one another listen today. I could go my entire life never hearing any songs from the first half ever again and be totally content.

Things do pick up a bit in the latter half. The Void from Which No Sounds Escapes is decent. MORE? is decent as well but I actually think I prefer the instrumental version they released on YouTube more lol.

Episode is legitimately good, easily the best song on the album. I even enjoy the softer/cleaner bits of it which I can't really say for any other songs here. Maybe One Day is just bad.

The closer, Terrestria IV: Work, has some good moments but there's nothing really pulling me back to listen again.

Overall I respect that they wanted to do something different and there are hints of good stuff in this new style of theirs but it really needs to be refined a lot. Most of it just sounds really boring and and honestly a little bit pretentious.

I could see their next album being a lot better once they hone this new sound a bit.

Agreed. Make that a soundoff. There s some cool proggy solos etc but its so damn sparse.

Finally listened to The Work and honestly I thought it was decent.

But my major problem with it is that the pacing on it is so fucking awful, it's just such a slow as fuck album that it can be a chore to get through.

It's a bit all over the place, but I'm having fun. Also, no problem with chugging when done right
