He also has never listened to a jazz record in his life

There's having subjective opinions then there's having bad opinions that undermine you as a credible music critic

Gas sucks hard, that's not a wrong opinion, that's a fact.

Giving that new Jpeg mafia more than a 4 was le wrong opinion.

"Shocked how high the average is for this tbh"

It's almost right actually

Comparing to the average scores of his last two solo albums and even to his other bands, it makes me wonder who his audience is. Not saying this deserves a higher average, but what were people expecting from this release when Jack always showed to have eccentric qualities in his music? He has played it more safe this decade so far so were people just content with that?

Man, the first 3 tracks of this are so good and then it just falls the fuck apart.

Funny, I thought the first track was the weakest

I can tell you one thing, this is a polarising album.

This is the most polarised I've seen people on an album in a long time, there doesn't seem to be too much middle ground

The more I listen the closer I get to bumping my rating too. Mindshaft has become a favourite.

Middle ground present, album gets too much shit and a bit too much credit for being "experimental."

I don't just think this is experimental 'for Jack' either, I think it's experimental full stop. It's not the most insane thing I've ever heard but it's pretty out there.

I'm pretty split on it too- There's a couple great tracks, and a lot of neat ideas are present, but there's also too many moments that have a "screw you, I'm Jack White" vibe to them.
