this is like the perfect "take me on a journey" album. this is what I live for.
only drawback is there's no song like "The Pale Host."

Female vox are good but kind of odd for the style, kind of poppier or something. They work though!

i have an odd habit of putting questions in reviews and this one particularly has a lot, maybe one day it'll get fixed.
The fem vox are good, you can just hear how unsteady her tone is a lot of the time. It's not a thing that ruins it, but certainly technically imperfect singing. The last track especially I got a lot of Enya vibes with the melodies for whatever reason, even if she's obviously not anywhere near Enya's dimension.

This is more like a 4.2 for me. We need a new policy where everyone can rate in 0.1 intervals hard.

Sheeeit homie didn't know they made a new album. These fools are like Summoning, but make better music in the current year.

This is such a great album

I like the very folky, European scales that the guitars play. Normally when playing this sort of stuff it can sound goofy as hell. They make it work.

Ode to the Sovereign and the t/t are the masterpieces on the album IMO.

unpopular opinion: this is at least as good as anything Summoning has made.

I'd agree with you on Empires of Ash, but this album is a slight dip for me. Still it's amazing, which goes to show just how well Sojourner is doing for themselves.
