Oh shit, the album is trending. I wonder if there even will be a better month for heavy music throughout the year. I'm skeptical.

I enjoyed it, Ground. 3.5'd it. Not pulling my attention anywhere near other releases though. I've already begun listening to last month's Endless Heights record again alongside Empty Black.

It's like Dillinger, Converge, and Zao came back with such strong releases just coming in sayin "Listen up you fucks, get your asses in gear and do our genre some justice"

Gotta give credit where it's due, metalcore is attempting to rally I think. There are a handful of releases coming later this year that will keep the momentum hopefully.

There’s a few core releases doing the rounds. Just hoping the trad metalcore starts making a quality comeback

Give the new Will Haven a jam. I wasn't thrilled with it initially, but it could be anywhere from a 3 to a 4, my thoughts were very conflicted over it. They're scene veterans and definitely got that old school sound on lock.

You'd also love Seizures if you're a fan of that aesthetic. The Sanity Universal is a modern classic in the genre fo sho. Plus, they've been recording since late last year and may/may not be appearing this year.

I will say that the releases I'm currently anticipating come from the high-tech, heavy assault camp (Frontierer, Sections [UK]) and the prog-metal mix (Napoleon, The Afterimage) rather than the classic sound.

oh fuck...this is a straight 4 to me on the first listen cause it meets everything i like within the genre. ETID plus Poison The well, deftones thing going on...this has 2 ways possible on this rating - 4.5 cause i just love everything here; or 3.5 because i'll just think its to much of ETID copy

@guitarded_chuck "this is good but basically an etid copy"

That is my impression with the first listen. I found some cool different things tbh but not sure if its enough to give them identity to overcome that reference ...i have to give this more tries
