Boiling them alive definitely seems harsh, it’s like letting animals bleed to death rather than doing it humanely.

Interesting though, I didn’t know they were eaten, I guess snails are

Damn that is brutal

I feel the same way about lobsters and crabs being boiled alive too.

Indeed, my grandfather's side is French. I've only had snail once though, a long time ago. They were quite dead before being cooked and were seasoned in the shell. Very garlic-y and not very nice from what I remember, but that might've been some preconceptions colouring the taste haha. But yeah I solemnly apologise to our future slug overlords for my past transgression, down with heliciculture m/

in the french way they have to be previously boiled to, before they re actually prepared and put in the oven. Thats pretty much the only way to do it, since you can't slit their throats, or carve their hearts...i mean, without the use of poisons.

I ate so many of them (the small ones) i can only imagine what they would do to me if they somehow capture me

They were purchased alive and placed inside a plastic bag in the freezer to kill them iirc

oh ok...because you are taking them out of the shell for preparation you don't need to boil them. got it...freeze them to death then.

Edit: for the record, i'm not in the cuisine business LOL

Album is so much better than it has any right to be. I'm so close to bumping to 4.5.
