Having a harder time with the second half, it keeps falling into the background for me. I'll have to give it a more dedicated listen maybe.

I always find a good remedy for the second half blues is to start at track 5 or 6 and go from there, let those songs exist on their own instead of at the back half of every listen. There's some good stuff on the second half here

Those are some big accolades. Glad you enjoy the song so much; as I mentioned a few posts up, I still slightly prefer Bask - but Birdless Cage is phenomenal in its own right.

This whole album is consistently good but The Canyon is head and shoulders above the rest for me. Easy top 5 SOTY, along side "Dream State" (Son Lux), "Remember" (Typhoon), "Hold Out Your Hand" (Brandi Carlile) and "The Hollow Hour" (Rolo Tomassi).
Yeah, 2018 got off to a pretty good start.
