Oh boy, a Hans review for this. It doesn't get any better.

Great album, best Judas Priest since 1990.

Love the energy in this album! Even if this was shit Priest would still deserve so much respect for their otherworldly contributions to the metal scene, but the fact that this rips just makes it so much more special. Love them.

this is pretty damn good. reminds me of something like The Electric Age by Overkill - nothing groundbreaking but full of solid fundamental songwriting and grooves

This is their best since Painkiller, actually Lightning Strike or Flame Thrower feel like they could fit there right in

I think shortening the intro to 1 paragraph and describing the album more would make this review stronger.

Kicks every imaginable ass. has the old-school vibes of Redeemer only with better execution, infinitely better production and more energy. Not bad for an almost 50 year old band.

I wasn't expecting the album to be so good, especially the second half.
Rising from Ruins and Spectre rock damn hard.

I really like Rising from Ruins with the beautiful intro track Guardian, and then when the melody comes back for the bridge, that's just a perfect moment. My only complaint, and I'm being very picky, is that the transition between the two tracks is not seamless like Hellion/Electric Eye. There's a clear hitch between the two, which is a shame since everything else is produced well.

I thought that "hitch" was a problem with my mp3 album version....I can't believe the band or the producer would let such a mistake happen.

I have the CD so yeah, it's a mistake. The producer is no less than the same guy who did British Steel through Ram it Down, so it's not from lack of talent. In fact, I watched a recent interview where Rob credits the producer for pushing him to do retakes until it was perfect. Odd oversight indeed.

Didn't know that Tom Allom produced the album. He's indeed a good producer, and should be one of the reasons the album is better than expected.
To avoid these technical mistakes, sometimes it's better not to separate the intros from the songs.

Anybody smarter than me know what tuning these songs are in?
Sounds like half step, maybe even d tuning? I'd love to jam to some of these.

There are a few guitar tabs already floating around. Looks like they are doing a few different tunings if you go by what people are posting. Lightning Strike is in standard E, Spectre is half step down from E, and T/t is in F (or probs just a capo on first fret if in standard).
Excited to hear this. Just starting getting into Priest lately.
