Nah, it's okay. The fact that I wiped my ratings and got rid of my 5 on this isn't helping matters either.

Somebody Else is the early favorite.

The next three songs are all better to me.

Having given C'est La Vie a week sink in, I can say with confidence that it's a bit weaker on the whole than Souvenirs and Noir. In particular, the last three songs might be their weakest ones to date. I do think that every track from Somebody Else through Head Rush is standard, top-notch Novelists, though.

Huh, Kings of Ignorance and Human Condition were my favorites after a couple spins tbh

I'm not a fan of the guest vocal spots except for Camille Contreras's.

I honestly just find their vocalist a bit boring I'm afraid. And those songs have the crunchiest riffs which I can almost always appreciate.

I love Matteo, his harshes are so forceful and his cleans are smooth and calming. He definitely got better as well going from Souvenirs to Noir

I can agree with that to an extent, but everything just sounds too polished and overproduced. Robs it of its authenticity just a bit. Maybe just my ears who knows.

The (over)production is part of this band's charm imo.

followed this band since they did concert openings act back in 2015.
I forever consider all they need is another clean voice.

styles are diverse in Noir, the clean used some singing techniques. still fine. in C'est la vie, the weakness gets obvious, the clean voice's delivery is terrible, the quality of his voice, the pitch, his breathing all became casual, which stops me from truly enjoying it.

styles fusion in Noir can always get me. Joie De Vivre gives an excellent example of how amazing they can sound if they get a powerful clean.

only about Matteo's clean. big fan of the rest of the band.

I think it is not I don't like his voice,

it is the way he sings clean without much energy/emotion consumed puts me off.

I am still on C'est la vie, but the production is so much on vocal this time, which makes me feel the blow, hope it can grow on me.

I'd argue he sings with a lot of emotion, he just doesn't have a wide range which I don't mind because I love his voice

They dropped the ball by not putting Eyes Wide Shut on the new album. That song is too good, and they only had nine songs anyway.
