Okay so glad I gave it time to enfold itself to me. Once you grasp the length it really opens up its might.
Makes me wonder whether I would’ve liked other long records more as well if I had given them more time looking at you Titus Andronicus). But on the other hand, there’s probably a reason for it when you don’t let an album just go away despite an underwhelming first impression. So this one has earnt it.

Glad to dig this band for the first time

yall must not listen to a lot of hip hop if this album's length is bothersome

Not listening to hip hop at all. Anyway it‘s not just the album length but also that of the songs. You can’t just listen to something like Famous Prophets casually while walking down to the grocery store.

Famous Prophets is probably my favourite song here, High to Death is fantastic too. I have no problem with the length of an album if it's engaging throughout. While this may be more adventurous in parts I think this still falls short of Teens of Denial.

lol this
not really a casual listening album, which is fine even if it makes it a little less versatile as a whole

you could always throw something like sober to death or cute thing on a playlist if you wanted though

is it me or does the original Beach Life in Death destroy this? They stepped Famous Prophets up beautifully though, so I guess they break even

I've said multiple times the original is better, that includes BLID, they ruined my favorite riff ever in this project, however the last 3 minutes of the new version are unreal I give it that

If I absolutely adore this version of beach life in death, would I like the original one?

totally, guitars are very upfront and vocals are sweetly buried, gives the track and the record a more intimate touch and it has that THANK GOD FOR THE LITTLE THINGS I AM AND FUCK GOD FOR THE LITTLE THINGS I AM line which rules
plus its back on spotify so theres that

Pointless retread. Don't care for it. These are songs he wrote as a teen if I'm not mistaken, and as someone posted above (and I'll alter it a bit since I liked the previous album): this guy was a bitch.
