The beginning of Damage Inc. is Cliff's bass yeah. It's like four different tracks harmonising. Same thing with For Whom the Bell Tolls intro and the swells on To Live Is To Die (which I'm pretty sure was copied and pasted from Cliffs demos, and not Jason playing).

I remember getting introduced to this in the summer of 1986. 14 years old. On the Wisconsin USS swimming team bus headed to Gillette, Wyoming for the Zone C meet. Brian Gross from the New Berlin swim club played it on his boom box. Rest is history.

I remember learning to play metal to this in my room in '87, 14 years old, on my '86 Aria Pro II. The sweat, the gratification.

Remember Zak , this was fighting hair metal. I’d say this was more underground.

Cool. Was it the answer though? I came to all this in the early 90s and it said absolutely nothing to me. Metal, all metal was plastic.

As a ten year old when I bought this on cassette I confirm this was the fucking answer.

Sometimes I would half hold down the forward button on 'The Thing that Should Not Be' and turn Hetfield into a chipmunk - had to be in the mood for all 9 minutes of that one :D

When I was 10 the only answer I was after was one that would’ve made me pass the eleven plus.

This for me, back then, was for metal what Never Mind The Bollocks was for punk in '77. It was the shit.
