Guy very clearly is in love with his own voice way too much. If you want cookie-cutter post-hardcore with obnoxious lyricism and singing then this is the release for you. Honestly expected something interesting from all the 4.5s-5s but I can't see it going above a 2.5 at the very least

This is easily their most interesting album but it's still not very good. Those shitty trap hi hats are so unnecessary

theres barely any trap hi-hats on this album. The moments they appear they are pretty far back in the mix.

They're on like half of the tracks. They're pretty subtle but there are plenty of them.

Probably the best album from Slaves. I do wish the second half was as good as the first, but even the lesser tracks are at least enjoyable.

4.5 seems way to high for this. The album is catchy at times but it's also very boring. Everything is painfully complacent through the entire run time and it has 0 staying power.

Really surprised by the comments/scores here. This album is sick.

Not a huge fan of previous Slaves albums, bar a handful of songs ("There is only one God...", "Winter Everywhere", a few others) but this album is honestly spectacular.

Positives
- Lush production
- Musically inventive. Just look at "True Colours" and no idea what is going on with the time signature in the verse of "Let This Haunt You", but I like it a lot
- End to end full of catchy hooks
- Honesty and zero pretension in the lyrics
- Subtle lead guitar scaled back in the mix sounds incredible
- Vocals off the scale

Negatives
- Couple of similar-ish tracks, but that might be cos I've only listened to it a couple of times

On a scale of one to an exasperated sigh, how okay is this?

It's a shame really, I remember digging the song "My Soul Is Empty and Full of White Girls", as dumb as the title is
