I'd say the disc could be interesting but it's too long and repetitive for me to consider it 'great'... I can go with 'good' though as I like slick nice productions on black metal

Aokigahara was a very strong release, but everything I've heard after that sounds pretty much identical.

"these dudes have GOT to stop releasing 70 minute albums, they are always half an hour too long for the ideas present"

That was my biggest problem with Trauma, and I suspect would be with this album as well.

Looking up the lyrics to this was a mistake.

It's musically decent but I'd love just a little more variety

This is a step up from Trauma imo. The riffs are a lot stronger and more engaging overall.

yeah the riffs sell this to me, and the fact it's so direct and engaging unlike so many albums of its kind totally sells it

First contact ever with this band, two songs playing in the background, and it earned my attention.

I like how it's rock and extreme metal at the same time.

Too long of an album, songs are too long to express the ideas they represent, same old sound we've been hearing before, too repetitive.

The fundamental framework behind HFTS is great. Their production is crispy and they could become a really important band in post-black. It's a shame they are squandering their potential by dabbling in the same circles for the past several albums.

on paper, I should love this, but in reality I can barely go through couple of songs now, after my 3rd listen. incredibly boring album, with a few great moments scattered throughout.

The drumming did this for me- dude's got stamina. Has tinges of Deafheaven to it that arn't too bad at all.

Definitely gonna check out more of their stuff.

I like this a lot, but Trauma was slightly more interesting IMHO. Still, the production is quite good, and the songs are well structured, giving the album a very nice flow.

Gave this more listens and it's winning me over. Not as good as III: Trauma, but I'm digging this big time.
