Yeah this song is good. Exhale, t/t and maybe Blood Sweat Tears I remember being decent, just the bulk of that album was limp as fuck.

I've been listening to Catharsis so much lately I'm worried that it's now becoming a part of me :/

I listened to it recently (like the past year) and I was already slipping into a coma when that track came up but I remember being struck by the mood of that song. I think one of the main reasons that album doesn't do it for me is the guitars just have no punch. The mix sounds neutered compared to their older and newer stuff.

Listening to it now and it sounds like a grunge song almost... That one vocal part reminds me hard of Pearl Jam's Black. Ok this song is actually really really good... I know you said you didn't jam Ashes much but I think you would really like Descend The Shades. It's like a direct sequel to The Burning Red.
