Those harmonies in the chorus are just beautiful... Ellen and Brad always had great vocal chemistry together

Yep, they sound great together, it's a real shame this album was seen as a novelty.

I listened to one other album of theirs, Ooh La La, about a year after I wrote this review, but I didn't really like it as much. One of these days, I'll probably check out another.

The other albums just aren't all that strong, I've checked out a few. Oh Diva, I read an interview with Brad Roberts, he took a history of the Bible class but his degree was in philosophy.

OK. Guess I remembered it wrong. Not shocking these days, unfortunately.

Give Yourself a Hand is ok in my opinion... I actually reviewed it on here under a different account back in 2018. Pretty weird for CTD though, as it’s more of an R&B and hip-hop influenced album

Very nice review, this album needs more. I first heard this band from the movie "Dumb and Dumber" which featured their hit song "Mmmm" back in the 90's and loved it since then. But only 25 years later I suddenly had the urge to listen to some more of their tunes from this album. At first I wasn't too keen on it but damn, this albums does grow on you if you keep giving it a chance. And suddenly it clicked and wow, I was shocked to discover so much great music in it. And really interesting thought provoking lyrics too which was an even bigger suprise. It is now in my Top 25 albums of all time. The production quality is amazing also, one of the best sounding albums I've ever heard. I'm now giving a chance to their first album which came before this and the same thing seems to happen, it does grow on you

This is an underrated album, but I think people mistakenly see the record as a gimmick based on the singles

^ It doesn't help when the album's most popular song was bashed into oblivion back then... quite unfairly too, considering Mmmm is a great ballad in its own right. But yeah, there are a bunch of overlooked songs on here; Swimming in Your Ocean, Here I Stand Before Me, When I Go Out With Artists, the beautiful little untitled piano piece at the end... lots of great stuff to be found

The title track is absolutely brilliant. How does a duck now and I think I'll disappear now are also personal faves.

Such an odd mysterious song. Always seemed so cool to me. Just the vocals are ridiculous but I don’t mind
