And that isn't meant to imply that his other output isn't quality music, though.

These guys have a strange way of making their vocals work against the music in a really exciting fashion.

Man, this is powerful. Its both so pristine yet so abrasive and I love it.

I haven't made up my mind about this one yet. Leaving it as a 4 for now, can't tell if it will go down from there. I miss the more expansive songwriting on Rodin, makes it feel so incredibly immense and the band really explores a lot in the runtime.

Hey hey, for those interested, I play drums in a band that Nick, the Locktender vocalist, plays bass in. We just put out an EP and I figured some of you might dig it! Its instrumental post-rock/metal math-ish kinda stuff. Here’s a link… Cheers! https://rootsandruins.bandcamp.com/album/die-right

I found this album very average. To me it is like an incoherent Touché Amore. I found the dynamics to be poorly thought through at times which is a very essential part to this music. There are moments of beauty, I cannot defy that, but I found the negatives out weighed the positives.

Didn't expect to see a band comparison like that here

I will say that this pales in comparison to Rodin. It just perfectly captured that 'epic' feel post-metal/rock can create. This one, the high points feel more scattered and not as frequent and explosive.

I am quite uninformed in this genre so that maybe why I drew that comparison. I will make sure I give it another listen and see where I end up.
