I legit want to know what you all find interesting about this. For real, all I ever hear on every single of her releases is terrible bubblegum pop music, horrendous beats and appalling lyrics on top of it.

I want to understand. Am I legit deaf or is it as awful as I think it is ?

Long as you admit at least the opener is a banger then yeah I agree with you.

part of it is the pc music production, part of it is charli's aesthetic schtick

For real thought, the fact that this isn't drowning in 1s is completly incomprehensible to me

Idk every year I try to check out some "actual" pop (i.e not like indie pop and such, which I love) just for the sake of it and I guess this is that for me this year but yeah I can't say it worked for me

I mean if your favorite genre is prog rock what were you expecting to enjoy here?

i'm not sure if verbalizing why we like this is going to sway you at all lol. this stuff either appeals to you or it doesn't. and i totally get why someone wouldn't like this hyper-saccharine style.

i'm retracting my statement...this is not a pop album. it is a "Pop 2" album

It's not just that it's saccharine though, some parts of this are genuinely unpleasant to listen to (though I'm not gonna bother with specifics since I've only suffered the whole thing once)

The Carly song could've been better, dig Outta My Head and Track 10 more.

I can dig pop when it's good so it's not quite a matter of genre I think but this just doesn't strike me as good.

what parts are unpleasant for you boney ? i honestly love how they utilized autotune on this. love the over-saturation and contorted pitch-dragging of the vocals.. like on lucky. love~

Cook did the same thing with Hannah Diamond on Make Believe but it works a lot better there for some reason

As I said I can't give too many specifics since I'm working off a one-listen "hot take" (from almost a week ago now no less) but the autotune was pretty annoying for me iirc. Could be a personal problem though as I almost always dislike processed vocals.

the 'processed vocals' make a lot of sense here
