It wouldn't have really worked on the album imo. Too expansive/grandiose to have fit the mood.

The remixes aren't nearly as good as the OG stripped-back sound of C&L, but it was refreshing hearing tracks like Drawn to Blood and John My Beloved with an electronic accompaniment. Greatest Gift is super catchy, wish it was longer.



Also my roommate who is from Portland and is a Portland Timber fan would probably cum listening to this. City of Roses is gonna be an anthem for him at least for a year.

i didnt find any of the remixes to be offensive to the original material, but none of it improved on it either (not that its easy to improve on a 10/10 album). the best material here is the b-sides and the iphones demos could've been done away with, but overall its a rewarding listen for someone who really loves carrie & lowell.
