No, not at all really. I see them as very obvious attributes of the work, but I see them as some of the elements that make the so enjoyable for me. I love the build and release quality to the record, even though the builds are easy to follow and predict, and I love the overt and self-aware sad-sack tone of the record. What I was objecting to was, I suppose, how those lines of criticism are phrased. I find it tricky to explain. I'll come back to it.
