lol at this stuff at 'rating police'. It's nothing to do with ratings - it's about respect. When people put their energy and passion into creating something, you should at least owe them the respect to listen to it/engage with it properly. I'd bet none of these people who think it's okay to be this dismissive of musicians' work have ever tried to be a musician or bother creating something. They just sit there like some spoilt consumer and hate on people's work without even bothering to understand it. Again, it's a lack of respect, particularly odd given this is a site where people claim to be knowledgeable and passionate about music. Respecting the people who make it a bit more would be nice.

Ditto the ridiculous expectation from many on this site that bands should consistently make amazing album after amazing album. If you've ever worked with or known musicians in the real world, you'll understand that it's extremely hard, borderline impossible, to keep coming up with amazing stuff year after year. If a band makes just one great album, that's good enough. Any more is a bonus. Expecting more is unrealistic - and as a result, unfair.
