In isolation it's not an amazing song, of course that's debatable depending on your perspective but shoehorning material onto albums where it doesn't belong is nonsensical. I've heard a lot of this 'add Eve to Dusk' malarkey & it doesn't make sense. Do a separate compilation if you desire to group your favourite Converge songs.

"Poor technique" vocals are often the best because "proper technique" is about saving your voice, not sounding the best you can.







So a lot of scream vocalists sound great early in their careers and then switch styles to try and mitigate the damage done from "poorly" performed yet good sounding vox.



I think it's fully possible to do good screams in a way that doesn't literally hurt your throat afterwards. All you really need to do is add proper diaphragmatic support so that the vocal cords don't have to take all the brunt. You'll feel exhausted for sure, but at least you won't feel pain.



Corpsegrinder's screams are still as good as they always were for example

yeah, most of the metal guys seem to have it down, while quite a few hardcore singers end up fucking over their vocal chords

Just got back from the show, not the best I’ve seen. They really only played stuff from you Axe To Fall and beyond. Though, they did play “Eve” which was a pleasant surprise.

they claim they arent playing live shows in 2018 after dusk tour or something, at least in america (think they doing yfm and dusk in us front to back at roadburn tho)



heres to hoping they do like a YFM 15 year anniversary tour in 2019 or something, clock is ticking for them to do shit like that in the US
