This is their best, agreed.

their worst but with this band the gap between their best and worst is like 1.5 points at most

title track is something else. if this album isn't then that track alone is this band's crowning achievement . the sprawling guitars just take me somewhere every single time

"i guess i really just have no strong nostalgia for the early era considering I got into to them via songs on BSN first.

they're still great, Juturna is definitely a trip and OLG def hits hard but idk, BSN is just hookier/lusher /more interesting OLG to me and The Amulet might just be the culmination of everything they've been aiming to do. i can hear aspects of especially the previous 2 but def Juturna as well"

Nothing comes close to OLG tbh. Their best musicianship and atmosphere, and most consistent. Carry us away, the difference between, and kicking your crosses alone make it top tier. The only song on BSN that even stands out to me as undeniably awesome is through the desert.

The last two songs on this are amazing. The rest of the album is a pleasant mush of noise that doesn't really do anything particularly well.

I put VW over this also, but Descensus crushes VW. Descensus is possibly my favorite CS, along with Juturna. This and On Letting Go are my least favorites — but the title track on this is one of their top 3 songs, Nesting Dolls is in there too.

descensus is kinda patchy in the back end but the combo of only the sun/nesting dolls is the best thing they've done since bsn

this is pretty clearly my least favorite but i sure got a lotta love for indras net

Quiet Down and Sovereign Circle are average. the rest of Descensus is what pushes it into possibly my 3rd favorite by them.

Sovereign Circle is one of my favorite Circa tracks, lmao. The chorus is so good.

Circa average is still better than a lot of bands' good

it never super clicked with me but i recognize that it def has what could be considered a powerful chorus

This was my intro to CS and remains one of my faves, but Blue Sky Noise destroys anything else they've ever done
