Its easily the core album of the year for me. Its short, concise, & all killer with no filler just like this album was. And the riffs...my god the riffs *chef kiss*

OK what the FUCK I'm halfway through and I would be shocked if this didn't end up being their best album. No idea how they managed to get even better.

It's definitely really good. I think I'm a bit cold on it because new Norma Jean is still blowing my mind. I'm also feeling like (brace yourselves, I'm gonna make THAT comment) I wanna see these guys branch out more. All the lead lines and chord progressions are starting to bleed together enough that I kind of know exactly where they're gonna go next. It's always the same intervals.

Like, I don't REALLY have a problem with a band just staying in their pocket and releasing solid album after solid album, but it would be cool to see what they could do if they leaned into their occasional post rock tendencies a bit more, or if they decided to get heavier and less melodic.

Album's easily a solid 4 but I do wish it sounded more fresh.

I respect that. I feel sort of the opposite way about the new norma jean though. I just love these guys sound, lyrics, and Brendan is probably my favorite vocalist in the whole of metalcore or melodic hardcore, what have you. Crazy charismatic in his delivery.

He sounds like he's coming in super hot all the fucking time when I have a mix on in my car I'm like "this has to be a Counterparts song" every time mane.

Yeah I mean Counterparts is top tier for what they do, and Brendan an incredibly gifted vocalist (though SOME of his lyrics are a bit cliche and trite imo). I think I'm just ready for a dose of variety.
