@supremejelly I'm right with you there. Deftones made me love that. But El Cielo by dredg is perfect for that too.

"man the music industry is shit"
That is the reason my friend. I have a friend who is a concert/music reviewer and he has some ties to Arcane Roots. He reassured me that their weren't any creative differences or personal conflicts, but much more monetary pressure and management issues

I saw them a good 8 times in 3 years I can't say I didn't do my bit but damn does it stuck to hear that a medium sized band with a cult following can't even make the money to keep going let alone live properly off it

I'm neutral about it. The reality is that we as a society need people doing other jobs (higher pay is a sign of demand) so while we may miss out on a few great bands we also scare off a lot of shitty ones and make them more productive at stuff they're more suited for.

the only place where there is demand is high profile jobs on STEM which is something that won't be covered for years and years and poor wage jobs who anybody with a degree will never want to do
what the hell does this have to do with the music industry tho
I mean there's the webz. even I have a song recorded and I barely can play a piano and sing in tune

maybe they are like "if we do it, we do it 100%" but I don't know. It's a shame because they were a fabulous live band. Just saw them once at Arctangent this year and instantly fell in love. best gig of the festival

Yeah that set was absolutely killer but man it wasn't even the best I've seen them this year. Just makes me sadder that they were climbing so quickly in terms of their performances

Listened to this a lot in the last couple of days. The stretch from Off The Floor, Curtains and Solemn is 5/5 material, Curtains especially with that epic build-up and the overall grand feel of the song

Yeah, totally agreed. Now with enough time passed, I think there are worse ways to disband than dropping this banger and go

Since they reportedly didn't split on creative differences but because of financial ones, i don't think a reunion is unlikely. Or that at the very least we will see some songs live again when Andrew Groves eventually does a solo tour

You think so? I don't know...when I imagine I'd need to decide between music and "real job" and I choose "real job" I would stay in there and don't interrupt again. But then again: in today's society are so many flexible jobs, so why not?

He's posting a lot of his home studio on his IG and he showed off some short demos too. Don't think the guy is out of the music business, so it is very likely we will see something in some shape of form soon
