Okay boomer

But seriously, I can see how e.g. indie fans would like this over their back catalogue

I'm hardly an Indie head but it's the lyricism and concept that really pushes this well above their other stuff for me.

Personally, I get a lot more out of a simple lyric like "I don't want the glass, I want to see the truth" compared to "countries are just lines..."

Both great lyrics but The Spark stuff hits all the right areas

I was referring to Gyro, but it's a sweet answer anyway haha. The Spark just feels so honest in its vulnerability it's hard ti ignore. Stuff like that touches you differently compared to more social-economic lyricism

lol i love every genre dude, i just find their post-hardcore stuff to sound incredibly generic and uninspired, and this is a much more candid and emotional record

The fact that this has the lowest average of their discog when it's objectively top 2 is astounding.

I remember I used to like Mindsweep and tried listening to it a few days ago and couldn't make it past the third or fourth track it was so unlistenable... idk

Flash Flood might still compete with this tho

i never really got the hate tbh. i think people really overreacted to the lack of screams. this has a lot of catchy goodness
