I just caught up on this thread and Google searched stuff about Robby Baca but not much comes up that isn’t about The Contortionist or his guitar and gear setups. Do I have it right that basically he holds some questionable beliefs about Covid and might be conservative and appears bigoted by his likes on Twitter? Disappointing to hear if so, tho it won’t stop me listening to the band or anything. He’s a pretty integral member too it seems like.

Reign of Kindo posted some vague ass shit about how they were "discriminated against" for not wanting to 'follow the rules" at certain venues.

And then went on about how it was negatively effecting their mental health and made it a sob story about them, when it was very clearly that at least a couple of members of the band weren't vaxxing, and equated it to them being oppressed somehow.



It was this massive fucking paragraphs long bullshit thing they were hiding behind that truly boiled down to some anti-vax we aren't sheeple bullshit.

The outpour of support from fans on the post was pretty gross and it felt very much like they were manipulating and hiding behind the 'mental health' thing and it rubbed me in the worst possible way, they can all go fuck themselves.

Basically, Talons. I'm sure he's made some iffy posts but I was just tipped off to his Like history and it's pretty vile. A kind of pattern emerged from them that can only point to someone who's mental health is spiraling as they succumb to more and more cruel, ignorant stuff. Sad.

Yeah and I’m pretty moderate and kind of a free speech absolutist, but when there’s a pattern like that where the person is liking all those different people and things mentioned on the previous page, it’s disheartening to see from a band member whose music you might like or love like The Contortionist.

Not to open a can of worms but I was actually saying to someone just yesterday how disappointing it is that Elon Musk used to be just a tech genius making sustainable vehicles that should be a huge contributor to combatting climate change to what he’s become now.

He remains my favorite part of the band. Despite how up-their-own-assholes they seem to me, a lot of people do revere Exoplanet, and a lot of other people revere Language. I think they can be at times captivating live, but don't come back to them much.
