opinions and all

but I truly can't fathom how someone can put this on the same level as Disturbed's Indestructible.

oh well, at least you 4.5'd TDAG so you're still alright ; )

Really need to give this a few more listens, and I really like it so far, but it feels way less "Brand New-ish" in style to me than their other albums. A lot of songs remind me too much of other artists' style and influence, which I could never really say about a BN full-length since YFW.

e.g. I hear Modest Mouse (Same Logic, a few others) Black Keys (451) Simon & Garfunkel (Heaven) etc.

I def hear Modest Mouse (also did anyone else catch the 'Float On' reference?), and can sorta hear S&G in just that one track...Black Keys not so much.

Someone mentioned older R.E.M. on "In The Water"

I missed the Float On refrence Sowing, where was that at? Certainly "Same Logic/Teeth" does has some Modest Mouse vibes with Jesse's vocal deleviery and the music otself though

just because they used the words "float on" does not mean it's a MM reference

In this case I think it does though, considering their extensive touring with the band

@Sowing

I could write an essay about everything wrong with this but I feel it'd be pointless.

In short: Brand New sans emotion or passion ft. Jesse Lacey's fake southern twang from 'At the Bottom'

Sans emotion? you wild Zip

good write up sowing, to me this is their best album - the most well constructed for sure, but the diversity really took me off guard

Anyone get hyped at the end of No Control where they start building up a heavier track and then just cut it?
