This album has some of the best lyrics I’ve ever heard without a doubt.

I'd put Le'aupepe in the Aaron Weiss tier of rock lyricists in a heartbeat

lmao. Yeah Weiss is god tier for me -- I think Le'aupepe does a great job of bringing the head-in-the-clouds philosophy down to the layperson just watching a football game and shit lol. This record really did resonate with my lyrically to an insane degree when it came out, though.

The Heart is a Muscle hits pretty hard atm. This feels like an insta 5, but I'm still trying to resist that itch

Its a fine album, full of hope and optimism. Baffled at what the next will sound like.

I'm hoping it's something completely different. Loved this, but I think they can tap into something really unique next record.

He did an interview on Dustin Kensrue's podcast back in January which was pretty interesting and gave some insight into the process for the next record. I'd say we can probably expect a different direction, because Dave himself says he thinks this album is garbage and he cringes whenever he even looks at the artwork, hahaha.

Dave's sweaty pilgrimage into the pit to give out bear-hugs during Magnolia is one of the warmest moments of my life. His Let Me Down East dance one of the hottest.

Is their debut similar to this?

The hit to miss ratio is less 16:0, but it's definitely worth checking out. Vital Signs, Magnolia, and Sjamboksa are some of their best songs.
Also considering we're talking on a positive album, how're you doing, kalk?

Oh, thanks man. I'm doing quite good. Atm I'm writing letrers of application for an internship as a final part of my studying. Times like these are pretty bad for internships so I'm doing more of the stuff I couldn't do in the past few years. So there is good in the bad and I must admit I'm enjoying it a bit
And how about you? These times can be quite harsh

I can see this being the type of album a band would quickly come to dislike. A bit pretentious and melodramatic at times, and very personal, so definitely the kind of thing that might make you cringe as your perspective changed a bit. From a listeners point of view, I still love it

"don't, it's a hard 5"
I won't, everything here is just so convincing. Every song, every interlude. The 75 minutes runtime are actually justified. It's a lot, but it doesn't drag at all and I'm a hard believer most album should have a runtime ranging from 35 to 55 minutes. But sometimes there are album that need more or less time than that to get the point across and that's the case here

yayyyy kalk has seen the light, what an incredible album this is
"His Let Me Down East dance one of the hottest."
The first time I saw them live they went from Persevere straight into Let Me Down Easy and Dave stopped the whole show because people weren't dancing hard enough and he just spilled his guts for Persevere and we were just standing there. Whole crowd went hard after that.
Kind of a bummer when he did the exact same stunt the next time I saw them, but whatever, they're still amazing live
