this is my AOTY for now, with A Black Mile to the Surface nipping at its heels

a shame it only got that slot because I can't in good conscience give it to Science Fiction anymore, but hey

This is still the best album I've heard this year, hands down. And yes, Science Fiction is sitting closely behind it. Not because I'm trying to ignore Lacey's crime but that there are still three other members of the band that deserve the spot I'd say.

Lacey probably wrote most of Science Fiction, and I would probably punch him in the face, and Science Fiction is one of the best records this year. That's it. I listen to Burzum, I'm not really in the position to say "eeeeh I don't like that guy, he's kinda shady, so I won't listen to his music".

That said, GFIL takes the cake.

Quite rightly announced as Australian AOTY at yesterday's ARIA Awards.

has it ever occurred to you, that just maybe, you don't like this album as much as most of the people that listen to it?

Nonsense. You lack perspective. This album has overwhelmingly positive feedback (not just here), and you dismiss that as 'overenthusiastic'.
