Based on my first listen, I'd say this is probably the least interesting Hammock LP, which is odd coming right off of Everything and Nothing, but I also think it's one of their most consistently defined albums. I do think you need to be in the right state of mind to fully appreciate it, but it still delivers the quality I expect from a Hammock release.

I guess I'm in the minority but I liked this a lot better than their last one. More feels on this. Everything and Nothing sounds good but it's overlong, a bit tedious, and just not engaging enough to me. Only the opener stuck with me.

I saw Columbus a few months ago - gorgeous movie - and just found out a few days ago that hammock wrote the score. Don't know how I missed that, but I enjoy that soundtrack much, much more than this. It's excellent ambient, stripped completely clean of all the Hammock cheese. Go watch the movie and listen to the soundtrack if you haven't.

This is hella underrated and under listened to. Very emotional and balanced record.

I kinda wanna buy Far Cry 5 now just because Hammock did the soundtrack and it's really nice.

I've been reminded that they did the Far Cry 5 OST a few times when I've opened Spotify, but keep forgetting to jam. Glad to hear that it's really good.

Next you'll tell me that Neige composed the score for a horror movie.

It's a matter of time Neurosis works on a new Silent Hill.

If you experience the story and the vibe of the game, it really does suit the quiet moments. Idk if they composed the whole thing.

I added Floating World (: gonna listen to the new eps later. God I wish Floating World was a full LP cause that's a perfect album name.

Jesus, SnowBurn is one of their best songs!! Blissfully shoegazing and the guitar tones are better than ever. How can you be this prolific for 10+ years and STILL be this good??

‘Cause it ain’t that hard to write floaty stuff with pretty tones. I like most of what I’ve heard from this band but it doesn’t strike me as the kind of stuff that requires all that much effort (not that that’s inherently a bad thing; it’s just not that surprising they have consistent output).
