Seemed like they weren't 100% on the direction they wanted to take.
Still plenty of good songs here though.

Quick reminder that Eve is the best thing the band has done since AWLWLB

Probably, yeah. There's not a lot of competition though, you know, since that was their most recent LP until this one.

I can get behind this. It's quickly become one of my favorite Converge songs period, actually.

I come back to this more than anything on the latest album and it's not even close.

It's foil on the 7" release, orange cream vinyl. Lovely.

Pain is def one of the top tracks on The Dusk In Us

Agreed. I listened to the album yesterday because of this bump. Still feels more like a collection of pretty good songs than a fluid album though. Some bangers for sure.

The title track destroys the momentum the album was building. You have five straight bangers and then the one of the most mellow songs the band has ever made. The song isn’t even bad, it’s just really awkwardly placed in the track list.

It isn't bad. But it isn't good. And, yeah, it fucks up the flow hard. Way too jarring. Same with 1,000,000,000,000,000 Miles Between Us.

I ended up skipping both. Usually do.

Yeah both of them aren’t great tbh, I don’t generally skip tracks but I can see why you would - my alternative is to ditch the album entirely, I don’t feel there’s any reason to return unfortunately.

I think there are plenty of cool enough moments to bring me back but Dusk and Miles both just suck and not taking one or both off in favor of Eve is an astounding fuck up that I will never wrap my head around. More than likely Bannon's fault.

Eve is clearly better than both by a mile, but I don’t mind Thousands of Miles Between Us. It leads really well into Reptilian and the last minute and a half or so where Jacob actually sings is pretty nice.

I'm sorry, but The Dusk In Us is a beautiful song and not liking it is objectively wrong

It's one of the worst post-Jane tracks they've ever written. Strong contender for being *the worst*, along with Miles. Boom.

That’s crazy to me since it’s probably my favorite song they’ve made since Jane Doe.
