I thought I was the only one that couldn't get into the debut at all

Yeah. Just you two weirdos though. Debut is fucking money. Where Have You Been, I Can Barely Breathe and Colly Strings stand among their best songs.

Jamming this on Christmas Eve. This is festive, right?

Seems appropriate to jam the best album of the decade on Christmas Eve, so yeah.

This is definitely one of the decades best. Familiar instruments arranged in a sound not heard in indie rock in, well, a decade.

The chorus of "Lead, SD" has basically turned it into a Christmas song for me, so yeah, festive album

The way that The Alien drops into The Sunshine is the most perfect beautiful thing.

Who else besides me has really - and I mean really - dug into the lyrics on this? I've always loved them but they're hitting me in a whole new way lately. Some of the references and callbacks from song to song give me goosebumps and make me want to break down in tears of joy. Andy Hull is a god.
