Lead, SD is like the perfect meld of Mean Everything and Simple Math. Just wow.

"I just want to know, if this band is so amazing, how come no one seems to care about them outside this site?"

idk about that, I know a few people who really like these guys.

Actually their averages aren't even as high here as I thought, I guess it's just a relatively small group of rabid fans that make them seem so acclaimed here.

Yeah I used to hear songs like I've Got Friends on Chicago's alternative radio when I was growing up. I think I heard a few other songs from them on the radio too but I can't remember.

I mean, sputnik has its favorite bands but these guys are pretty beloved in certain circles.

idk when I saw them live 5 years back the place was packed. I think when they released Cope it kinda deflated the hype

I guess what I mean is that, judging from this band's threads on this site, you'd think they were one of the most widely acclaimed bands of recent years when clearly they're not. And for example, their averages are significantly lower on RYM than they are here and they have fewer ratings there, which is a pretty rare case since they have several times as many users as Sput does.

These guys are really popular on Facebook from what I've seen
Also Lead SD, The Silence, The Parts, The Gold, and The Alien are all top 10 MO songs, with Lead and Silence currently fighting for number 1 tbh

I also get the vibe a lot of people still just jam METN and Virgin and don't care for even Simple Math, let alone Cope

So I'm genuinely curious as to what makes them so popular here relative to other areas of the music sphere.

Not awful imo, but there's not too much reason to come back to it. Didn't have much of what MO fans come to their music for.

Cope is 2.5/3 material. Simple Math is my fav too but it took awhile to grow

It is very very very very boring and straightforward radio rock (Cope)

It straight up sounds like fucking Daughtry or something if we're comparing it to their other albums

Cope was a band known for killer ballads proving they didn't need to write ballads to be good

and they were mostly wrong
