the context of the album makes The Parts work. its a minimal mission statement of the record

Want to check these guys out. Bought this and Simple Math to start with. Who are they comparable with? Brand New, Modest Mouse etc?

Simple Math has some similarities with Brand New if they kept the pop-punk in their DNA from Devil and God onwards. this album is a totally different beast, it does so many styles and stays completely cohesive - not sure what I'd compare it to

Agree with you about the BN comparison as it relates to Simple Math, Rowan. I'd liken this album perhaps to Silversun Pickups?

I've heard one Silversun Pickups song in my life so can't really on that one either way

parts of this def remind me of Dear Hunter's Black (The Moth and The Wolf mainly) and maybe a bit of Thrice, but idk it synthesises everything so well and makes it its own

i can sort of see the silversun pickups comparison but even then, this is its own thing. not reminded of republic of wolves in the slightest.

this album is the only one by the band that ive been able to get into. There's this band called Raised by Swans, album no ghostless place, that bring on similar vibes to this, at least for me.
